BFAM: Quitting everything to follow your dreams can be fulfilling, yet scary and risky. What was the most difficult obstacle with starting your own business?
NR: There really wasn’t one defining obstacle that I can think of. But there were a bunch of little things that came up that I would be unfamiliar with from the legality of things, to accounting and creating a website, etc. Luckily I had friends and family that knew more than me in these areas, so they would help me out, and I would try to pick their brains as much as possible.

BFAM: What's the most rewarding aspect of having your own business?
NR: The most rewarding thing for me is just being able to “hang out with the kids”. My days go so fast because I really enjoy what I do, it’s never like work.
I’m not in a cubicle from 9-5 watching the clock, It feels really good when you get praises from kids, parents and school staff about how they love and enjoy the program.
At the end of the day, I created all of this, and just to think not too long ago it was just an idea in my head.

BFAM: What's the most important lesson you try to teach your kids?
NR: We really are not trying to turn the kids into little chess masters, but we just want the kids to learn chess and have fun.

BFAM:  Being your own boss, you must have some free time. What are you doing when you're not working on Yes for Chess?
NR: Its Great! I have so much more free time nowadays. Depending on my chess schedule I try to work out at the gym or train Muay Thai in the morning or evenings.
I don’t have to get up early in the morning, so I might hang out with friends and play poker late into the night. It’s great, it’s as if everyday is a Friday for me.
